Dian is a connoisseur of art and artifacts. His discerning eye and love of collecting work with highest forms of artisanship was the birth of Gandhara, the unique art, crafts and artifact store in Colombo.

Dian is also the co-author of ‘Costumes of Sri Lanka’ published in 2000 with Dr Gavin Wimalaratne. The book won the award for Best Prose
